3.Choose d if the question cannot be answered even by using both the statement together.

Ques 1. What is the average of the best and the worst score out of 8 tests taken by a student?
I. The average of all 8 tests is 84%.
II. After dropping the best and the worst grade, the average of the remaining 6 tests is 86%.

Ans 1. By statement, I average of all 8 tests is 84%.
By statement II average of 6 tests excluding the best and the worst scorers 86%.
Average of the best and the worst score
= 1/2 [ 8 x 84 – 6 x 86]%
Hence, both statements are needed to answer the question.
